An authentically sizzling hot and home-made taste of the Caribbean whenever and wherever we pop up, that’s what we’re cookin’!

But The Jerk Joint’s no flash in the pan.

We’re on a mission to put real Jamaican street food right where it belongs – on a street, in a foodie market, at a wedding, a corporate bash or a festival… Anywhere in fact, that the clang of a jerk pan and that heady mix of spices and scents conjures up a carnival vibe…

WHO'S COOKIN'?

We’re Kev and Viv – a couple with Jamaican roots, a British Jamaican family background and a shared and all-consuming passion for proper Jamaican street food (as well as for one another).

And we’ve been cooking this up for years… At home, at first, for friends and family and then, once we got our hands on our first proper jerk pan some ten years ago, we moved up to garden parties and school fetes… And then in August 2014 we hit upon The Jerk Joint concept.

But that was just the start…

We put our hearts and souls into another hard-grafting year and a half, cooking up a storm and working into the night to transform our down-at-heel caravan into an all-singing, all dancing, carnival-ready ‘jerk hut’ on wheels. And having hit the streets in May 2016, we’ve never looked back, except to check we never lose touch with our roots!

RECIPES WITH ROOTS

There’s not much that’s more important to Jamaicans than roots – and our recipes are true to ours in every tiny detail. All our meat’s marinated for a no-messin’ 24 hours solid. And, from Jerk Chicken to Pepper Pot Prawns; deep-fried Saltfish Fritters to Fried Plantain, everything’s lovingly prepared using only the freshest traditional ingredients plus Kev’s unique passion and pride to create a carnival for your tastebuds!

MENU

Jerk chicken marinated for 24hrs cooked on Jerk drum.
Served with rice and peas salad & coleslaw

Curry goat meal marinated and slow cooked.
Served with rice and peas salad & coleslaw

Saltfish fritters deep fried with salted cod flavoured with fresh herbs and spices.
